A Message from New Chapter 293 President Greg Gilman

October 2006: It is with great pleasure that I have assumed the responsibilities of President of NTEU Chapter 293. I am deeply honored to have been elected by our Chapter membership to serve in this capacity, and I will give the job my full attention and best efforts. I am looking forward to working closely with Chapter 293 leaders across the country. Please accept my heartfelt thanks for your support.

As many of you already know, I am an Enforcement attorney in the Boston District Office, where I previously served as the NTEU Steward and Representative to the Executive Board. Our new Vice President, Veronica Lewis, is a disclosure assistant in the Division of Corporation Finance, where she formerly served as Chief Steward and Headquarters Representative. We are both firmly committed to representing the interests of all SEC employees.

During the coming months, our leadership team will be working hard to implement the program that we outlined for the membership over the summer. This will include continuing efforts at the bargaining table and through the grievance process to improve your work life and protect your rights, individual outreach to each office in the agency, and significant improvements and enhancements to Chapter 293’s communications with SEC employees.

This inaugural edition of the Chapter’s new representational newsletter, Chapter 293 Works, is an important element of that communications effort. Chapter 293 Works will follow in the footsteps of the earlier Chapter 293 Newsletter. It is our goal to distribute Chapter 293 news and information more frequently than in the past. Please feel free to let me know your thoughts regarding this publication – or if you have an item to include in our next edition.

Thank you again for giving me the opportunity to serve you.
