Nix, Katie

Katie is a Staff Accountant in the Division of Corporation Finance in Washington. She has served as Chief Steward of Chapter 293 since 2006, and as a Headquarters steward since the inception of the union. In addition to currently serving as the Chief Steward, she is a Headquarters Representative and member of the national negotiating team for the Collective Bargaining Agreement. During her 37 years of experience with the SEC, her goal has been to find solutions to problems as they arise. She has extensive experience with the EEO process and is knowledgeable about disability issues, having served as Chair of the Disability Issues Advisory Committee for many years. Katie thinks that the SEC has in house the necessary skills and good will to solve many of our problems before they become formalized in a grievance process. She invites staff members who are experiencing problems to contact her promptly.
