Do You Realize How Much the Union's Lobbying Pays Off for You Each Year?
Get the facts how NTEU gets you better pay raises! Every year, NTEU's highly effective Legislative Department works very hard to ensure that Congress gives SEC employees a fair and competitive pay raise that maintains parity with military employees' raises. As an example, during all but one of the seven years from 2002, when pay parity first became a reality, to 2006, NTEU's efforts led directly to substantially higher pay raises for you than those that were proposed by the administration:
- 2002: 3.6% proposed, but NTEU successfully fought for 4.6%
- 2003: 2.6% proposed, but NTEU successfully fought for 4.1%
- 2004: 2.0% proposed, but NTEU successfully fought for 4.1%
- 2005: 1.5% proposed, but NTEU successfully fought for 3.5%
- 2006: 2.3% proposed, but NTEU successfully fought for 3.1%
- 2007: 1.8% enacted
- 2008: 3.0% proposed, but NTEU successfully fought for 3.5%
- 2009: 2.9% proposed, but NTEU successfully fought for 3.9%
These higher pay raises add up to real money over time. Consider the two examples below, which show just how much additional cash an employee made over this period starting at two different salary levels in 2001: $50,000 and $125,000. Without NTEU working on your behalf, you would not have received those substantially higher raises. But without dues paying members, NTEU would not exist to fight for you. Please become a member of Chapter 293 and join those of us who are making it possible for NTEU to obtain increased pay for all SEC employees.
Example I -- $50,000 If you made $50,000 in 2001, NTEU’s hard work paid you a total of over $26,000 more over the next eight years:

Example II -- $125,000 If you made $125,000 in 2001, NTEU’s hard work paid you a total of over $66,000 more over the next eight years:
