Hannan, Susan
Sue has worked as a Senior Enforcement Attorney in the Los Angeles Regional Office since 2000. She is also a member of the SEC Women’s Committee. Sue has a B.A. in psychology from Rutgers University, an M.Ed. from Rutgers Graduate School of Education, and a J.D. from Loyola. After working for many years as an attorney specializing in insurance defense litigation, she was drawn to a career at the SEC as a result of her strong interest in investing and her desire to help advance the agency’s mission of protecting investors. Sue has served as a steward from Chapter 293’s inception. In that capacity, she has represented a number of employees in various difficult situations, including disciplinary actions. She is a strong advocate for utilizing mediation to resolve disputes and to repair damaged communications, and she has been able to bring that philosophy to her work on behalf of the union in a way that has been mutually beneficial to both managers and employees.
