Gilman Names Nix and Gandy Chief Stewards

10/22/2006

10/06: Chapter 293 President Greg Gilman has named Katie Nix to serve as Chief Steward, and Marshall Gandy to serve as Regional Chief Steward.

Katie Nix is an accountant in the Division of Corporation Finance at Headquarters, where she has long served as a Steward. She is also currently a member of Chapter 293's Term Agreement Bargaining Team, which is charged with negotiating many of the rights and benefits that will be enjoyed by SEC employees over the next few years. Katie will assume the responsibilities of the chapter's Chief Steward, but her primary focus will be upon representational matters in Headquarters and the Virginia Ops Center. Stewards from Washington and Virginia will keep her informed of grievances, arbitrations and other representational issues in Headquarters and the Ops Center.

Marshall Gandy, a former County Criminal Court Judge in Texas, is currently an enforcement attorney at the Fort Worth District Office. He also has served Chapter 293 as a steward for a number of years. As Regional Chief Steward, Marshall will be working closely with the Stewards in the SEC's regional offices in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Fort Worth, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Salt Lake City.

Katie and Marshall both have the skills and experience to make a difference in Chapter 293's representation of SEC employees. Congratulations to them both.
