New NTEU Negotiated Benefit: SEC Employees Are Now Eligible for Membership in the Treasury Department Federal Credit Union

New Benefit! As part of NTEU Chapter 293's ongoing work negotiating additional benefits for you, the union recently obtained an agreement permitting SEC employees to join the Treasury Department Federal Credit Union (TDFCU). Thanks to Chapter 293 Steward Pat Copeland in D.C. for all of her hard work to make this happen! TDFCU was founded in 1935 by United States Department of Treasury employees. It is a full service financial institution, headquartered in the Treasury Annex in Washington, DC. With assets in excess of $150 million, TDFCU currently serves over 25,000 members nationwide.

According to TDFCU's promotional materials, it offers a wide range of products and services nationwide including: direct deposit; free share draft (checking) accounts with no minimum balance requirement; no per check charge and no account maintenance charge; savings accounts; money market accounts; certificate accounts; and IRAs.  In addition, they offer consumer loan products including vehicle financing, personal loans, lines of credit, debt consolidation loans, as well as Visa credit cards with no annual fee. Real estate financing includes first mortgage,fixed, adjustable or jumbo, and home equity products, fixed rate second trust, adjustable rate HELOC or SHELOC. TDFCU members also receive free T-Access (internet home banking); with free Web Bill Pay and free online statements.

TDFCU offers access to funds no matter where you live or work, through two ATM networks, CU24 and CO-OP, offering over 100,000 surcharge free ATMs nationwide. In addition, they have over 3,000 shared branch locations to access your funds.
