NTEU Military Tribute

NTEU is continuing to recognize and honor members and their family members who are serving in the military. To date, the online tribute, available at www.nteu.org, contains 130 individuals in the armed forces. We encourage you to submit information to NTEU so we can include them or their loved ones in the tribute. Submissions should include service branch, rank, duty station and hometown. Photos are also encouraged. Current listings can be updated. Send submissions, including photos, electronically to [email protected] or via mail to NTEU Public Relations, 1750 H Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20006.

Upward Mobility Committee

In January, Chapter 293 and the SEC will appoint members to a committee to implement the new upward mobility provisions contained in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. If you are interested in the possibility of working on this committee with management, please contact Chapter 293 President Greg Gilman.

Childcare Center Grand Opening

A grand opening event for the Harbor at Station Place, the SEC’s new childcare center at Headquarters, has been scheduled for January 30, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. NTEU National President Colleen Kelley plans to be on hand for this event.

LMRC to Meet

The Labor-Management Relations Committee will be meeting in February to discuss matters of interest in the broad area of personnel policy and practice. Under the new Collective Bargaining Agreement, the LMRC will be meeting at least four times per year. If you have any issues that you would like to see raised at the LMRC meeting, please contact Chapter 293 President Greg Gilman.

EEO Training Scheduled for March

On March 12, 2008, the SEC Office of Equal Employment Opportunity will conduct training for NTEU Chapter 293 stewards on the administrative process for EEO claims at the agency. All stewards should mark this date on their calendars.
