2/2/07: Every year the NTEU’s Department of Legislation holds a conference called the NTEU Legislative Conference. This year the conference will be from the evening of Monday, February 26th until a closing luncheon on Thursday, March 1. If you or any member that you know wants to go to the conference, please contact me as we must act quickly. Previous conferences have included speeches, workshops, social events and constituent visits with your representative and senators, or more likely, their staffs.  I assume that this year will include a similar program. You will have to take annual leave or use credit hours to attend the conference.  Some of the events are in the evening or during lunch, and all of the sessions are close to a subway stop or a short walk from headquarters. In previous years I have been able to pick and choose the sessions that interested me, and then work during other periods, conserving my leave. The registration fee is $25 per person. Greg Gilman has authorized the Chapter to reimburse members the cost of the registration fee.
